Who pinched the parsley?

Dulcie has a small pot of parsley which hangs over the back verandah. We awoke this morning to find soil all over the top step at the back. Someone had ripped the parsley from the pot...even worse one of her knitted slippers had gone too! We found the missing slipper down the side of the house and later on in the morning the culprit returned to the scene of the crime! He sat on the railing just outside the back door.
