From the local 'Southern Star' newspaper."More than 1600 homes were left without power for almost an hour when a possum caused a powerline to fall in Runcorn last week.Resident Katherine Carlson reported hearing an 'explosion' on Pine St about 10pm last Wednesday December 4th.Energex spokesman Danny Donald said the fault was caused by a possum coming into contact with the high voltage lines at 9.47pm.He said the explosion caused a wire to fall, affecting supply to 1623 customers, with 90 percent of the power restored at 11.30pm."There is no mention of what was left, if anything, of the possum.
