The first day of Spring!

Normally I would be saying goodbye to Summer but Down Under we say 'Farewell Winter'. My thoughts are with those Up Over as they head on down towards Winter and the approaching darkness, especially those that are also back at school after their Summer break... I am trying not to smile about that and suppress the inner joy that is bubbling up, happy that I am not in the same boat anymore.

Down here it is also adieu to those flannelette shirts! Dulcie has already said that tomorrow she is going back to blouses. We are expecting temperatures of 29 degrees here tomorrow.....heck, I might even have to put my shorts back on!

We have flung open all the windows today after weeks and weeks of being hermetically sealed against the cold......well, it did almost get down into single figures!

There is a downside to this strengthening Sun....those legless beasts will be stirring in the undergrowth...I hope that this is not a 'King Brown year....it has already been pretty 'king rubbish!.....for many reasons and not just for me, but for lots of people I know.

Postscript:

As I was watering the plants in the pergola late this afternoon I unknowingly provided a meal for a thirsty mosquito...only aware that my blood had been stolen when the itchy lump appeared upon my side as I was seasoning the fish for tea. Typical! Bite free for ages and the first day of flipping Spring I get bitten again!

Thanks Spring!
