Of lightning, engines and fairy lights.
So.......it was an interesting journey here to Frogknot, last night. We set off at 10.00 pm."I like driving at night," said Will."I do too," I said ," when there are not large animals likely to leap out in front of you at any moment.""There are deer in the UK," said Will."Yes, but you don't see that many dead deer beside the road there do you?"I was looking out for suicidal kangaroos. That job was made much harder when we spotted a storm ahead. We were heading straight for it. Flashes of light illuminated the clouds ahead and occasionally a bolt flashed down to the ground. It was very distracting for those on kangaroo spotting duty.I was worried the storm was right over Cunningham's gap. I didn't fancy heading up there in a storm. What if a bolt of lightning hit the mountain and there was a rockfall? As it turned out, the storm was further south so I needn't have worried. We arrived at Frogknot just before 1.00 am in the morning and pretty much made the bed and got in it.Something was startled by our arrival and was rustling about in the roof for awhile.Today........(loud fanfare!).......Will got the engine working on the cement mixer. It has been sat open to all the elements for the past 8 years or so. It is quite incredible that after that time it still goes.....now he just has to try and get the belt sorted so that it turns the drum. The rest of the day involved 'nickification', more weeding and more solar fairy light installation, this time over the sink.....to provide light for washing up.
