Moving Day.
So.......the day began at 6.30 am and we began packing and dismantling the Man - Cave before collecting the van just after 9.00.We had it all packed up by 12.45 and set off for Frogknot at 1.00 pm. The van was automatic but quite noisy and the ride was really bumpy, so much so that I expected to open the van door at Glen Aplin and find just sawdust inside. Will found the manual over-ride going up the Gap and after that the ride was quieter if not less bumpy.Dave, our neighbour, had kindly said that we could store our stuff in one of his sheds at the bottom of the lane up to our house....( we knew we would never get the van up to the house)....but when we arrived at the shed at 3.30 ish, Dave's truck was parked in the entrance and we couldn't get the stuff passed it. Will rang Dave but he did not answer so Will left a message and we walked up to Dave's house to see if he was in......he wasn't.We walked over to Frogknot and found 55 mls in the rain gauge and entering the house found that in the rain storm water had flooded in on our newly painted floor. The water had dried up but there was quite a bit of debris to sweep up...luckily, underneath the floor looked fine. The dam was up and back to the highest level I have seen it.We were just wondering what we could do about the stuff in the van when Dave rang. He was back down at the shed and had moved his truck. We were finally able to unload the truck and were heading back to Brisbane by 5.30. We got back to Celtis St at 8.30.I was very glad that this day was finally over.
