Low.
So...this weekend the east coast has been visited by an extratropical cyclone generally called an East Coast Low.Much of the east coast from Brisbane down to Sydney has suffered strong winds and heavy rainfall with flood alerts on many of the rivers that flow into the Pacific. (Happily the Clarence is not one of them). We were hoping for lots of rain but as it turned out the 'Low' pretty much passed us by. We have had some rain and the whole weekend has been overcast and drizzly but we still have not topped 20 mls whereas coastal places have had up to 200 mls. I have been collecting as much water as possible in buckets, trugs and even hooked up the bath to the down pipe on the new shed. Every little helps! With no one expected to be out travelling this weekend it meant Will and I were not needed at 'Jersey Girls'. Happily, despite the miserable weather, we were visited by friends Andrew and Maan and this afternoon, our neighbours, Dave and Jen came over to see the shed and it ended up as an impromptu 'jam session' with them fetching their banjo and double bass, their son Kyle on his guitar, Will on his whistle and me trying to keep up with just three chords on the mandolin. It was much better than fretting over a till!
