Chicken Stalker!

So...since discovering Sheng-Mu is still with us and has not been whisked away by eagle or fed to foxlets I have been trying to find where her nest is.I suspected it was down by the dam and a few days ago, when I let the other 'chooks' out, I watched and waited to see if she would come out of the reeds as the others came down to peck. After a while I noticed some reeds moving at the edge of the water and knew it meant that 'something' was slowly moving along the edge of the dam through the reeds. Was this Sheng- Mu emerging from her hideout? As the movement got closer I could see a small frog leaping through the reeds, clinging to one for a bit and then leaping on. The 'something' was stalking it and following behind and though I never saw it I knew it was a snake.Sheng-Mu never emerged that day but the next day I found her clucking madly and sitting six feet up in a tree! I had to go off to the Book Cave soon after and could not watch where she went that day. I have wandered around the dam peering into the reeds a dozen times and can't see her anywhere...and that was because she wasn't down there.Returning home from the Book Cave today, and looking forward to two days free from work, I resolved to watch her like a hawk the next time she emerged over the coming days. I changed out of my work things and was just heading down to the loo when I saw her by the shed fussing about and then watched her squeeze into a gap between the shed and some boards that we have leaning up against it.I don't know how many eggs she is sitting on but we will move her to the 'Chickery' tonight. She will be safer there as we have recently seen some fox prints in the dust up near Fort Yudhisthira so they are knocking about again.
