Noisy night.

So...since the rain things have definitely changed. There is finally a green tinge to the plateau. I was beginning to think we would never see grass here again but slowly it seems to be returning. This afternoon there was a family (Mum,Dad and Baby) of Walleroos feeding just up the hill as I was bringing in the washing. I haven't seen any in ages up here as there was nothing to eat. I noticed a few grey thrushes singing this afternoon and I think some of them were young ones too.The frogs have gone crazy since the dam came back. Every night they are calling into the early hours and we have even heard pobblebonks again. There is a family of tawny frogmouths who are out every night feeding their young brood nearby. The young wait on a branch and call out with a rasping sound, not unlike the breathy scream of the undead, or the bark of a dog that has lost its voice, so their parents can post find them and feed them.Of course we hear the possums drop out of their roof top apartment onto the tin roof over the lounge after dusk and scurry across the roof to the water tank then hear the clatter as they make their way along the gutter to the deck, peering in the dining window as they go.We heard Galore hissing tonight and wondered if Caliban was back but he wasn't there. We haven't seen him in ages but he has disappeared for longer than this before. Hopefully we have not seen the last of him.
