Frogknotians 23
Chapter 23.
Verse 1;
And it came to pass, that in the beginning of the year they didst journey south, yea even unto Orange to visit with Phoebe, the daughter of Will and her mother Deranie. And they didst go out into the fields and didst toil upon the land to rebuild a crossing over the waters that had been destroyed by a great flood. And at that time there came, from the west, a great storm that didst tear limbs from the trees and rattle about the stables and they were sore afraid. But the storm didst pass and the crossing rebuilt and they went amongst the beasts of the field and drove them unto greener pastures with sticks and raise-ed voices. And it was good.
Verse 2;
And in the third month they didst once more visit with the healers to receive a fifth prick to protect them from the pestilence that was still amongst the peoples of the World. And it came to pass that Nick rejoiceth for Will left the baby cheeses and journeyed with him, yea even unto Eden to visit with family and friends. Their time in Eden passeth swiftly for there was much to see and do. They journeyed unto the great metropolis to visit with Rowan, the grandson of Nick, and north, across the sea, unto the island of Lewis and Harris, where Will spake with tongues. There was a great family gathering and feasting amongst the trees of Whinfell before they left, and journeyed south, yea even unto Barthelona to visit the great temple therein before continuing east unto the ancient villages of Santorini to celebrate the birthday of Nick. And it came to pass that Will didst become infirm but didst put on a brave face for the sake of Nick. And Nick didst become three score years and one, in that place, but lo, instead of rejoicing Nick wailed and gnashed his teeth for there was a great pain within him and what came to pass was not good. It was of the Devil, and it poured forth from him even before he couldst remove his garments. Nick wept.
But their torment didst not end there for they return-ed unto Eden to discover the pestilence was finally upon them, despite their multitude of pricks, and they couldst not return unto the Underworld at the appointed hour and had to remain in a close-ed stable for another seven days and nights before finally mounting the donkey homeward.
Verse 3;
And Nick didst once more return unto the House of the Word and Will unto the baby cheeses and it was good. And they didst welcome many visitors unto the House of the Moon and the time it passeth swiftly.
Verse 4;
And Will didst go out and spend time in the garden of the Moon and didst tend and give succour unto his plants and the garden didst blossom and bloom. And Nick didst go out and gather stones and build a wall about the garden to hold back the earth around the plants and it was good. But the sun shone and the plants withered and died for there was not enough water to tend them and it was not good.
Verse 5;
And in the ninth month they didst begin to toil upon the creation of two further bedchambers for the House of the Moon so there shalt be more comfortable room therein for people to shelter in years to come.
And in the tenth month a decree went out saying ‘Thou shalt come and cast thy vote on whether the first peoples of this land shalt have a voice upon their own future’ and the peoples of the land didst flock and cast their vote and spake saying “No!”
Will, Nick and all their friends wept and it was not good at all!
Verse 6;
And in the eleventh month Nick didst return unto Eden to be with his Mother and family and shalt dwell in that place, yea even unto the New Year. Will remaineth with the baby cheeses and toileth upon the House of the Moon. And it shall be the first time that they have been part-ed at this time of festive celebration.
And so it is written and so it will come to pass.
Here endeth the lesson.
