Frogknotians 24.

Chapter 24.

Verse 1;

And it came to pass that, in the beginning of the year Nick didst remain in Eden with his family, yea even unto the second month, for the Mother of Nick hadst been infirm, and when she was able to pick up her zimmer and walk, she spake saying, ‘Enough! Go home! Thy life is in the Underworld’ and so it came to pass that Nick didst return once more unto the Underworld, to Will, the Houses of the Moon and Word and the bright star that shone in the heavens, yea, even during the day! And it was warm!

Verse 2;

And they didst toil upon the new bedchambers for in the fourth month the parents of the wife of Josh, the eldest son, didst descend upon them and the old stable was not good. It was full of scuttling creatures of the field and the parents of the wife of Josh, the eldest son, would have been sore afraid. But they didst dwell in the new bedchambers, yea, even for three days and three nights and they were not visited upon by scuttling creatures of the field, nor serpents, nor eight legg-ed web weavers and it was good.

Verse 3;

And in the seventh month a decree went out saying to the people of the town ‘thou canst now return unto the re-furnished and refresh-ed House of the Word that had been close-ed unto the people for eleven score months. And the people flock-ed unto the House of the Word and the scrolls therein and didst finger them lovingly. But some didst frown and spake saying “We do not like the gate of many colours that our camels must passeth through to behold the scrolls”, but it was tough and they didst have to lump it!

Verse 4;

And it came to pass that, also in the seventh month, Nick didst return once more unto Eden to visit with his Mother,his brethren and sistern, his offspring and grandson. And it was a second coming and they spake saying “Ah behold, here he cometh again!” And it was good. He returned unto the Underworld two score days later and didst celebrate with Will, for they hadst been together for sixteen years, eleven in the Underworld and eight of those in the wilderness.

Verse 5;

And in the ninth month Will didst up and journey, yea, even unto Wagga Wagga, with two other Artisans, where they dwelt by the River of Murrumbidgee and there they sat down and didst listen to and witness the beasts of the field and fishes of the river and beetles of the dung and they didst toil upon works of Art and spake of their toil unto the people of that place and the people didst rejoice and thought it divine and were sore impressed.

And in the tenth month Nick didst journey, yea, even unto Wagga Wagga to be with Will and being no room in any inn they didst pitch a tent beside a road of rail and the tent didst quiver and shake and there was a great roaring and tumult throughout the night, yea, that even couldst cause walls to fall, if a tent hadst walls and it was not good. And then they didst up and depart Wagga Wagga and didst journey east and visited upon Phoebe, the daughter of Will, and her mother before journeying further east unto the House of the Moon.

Verse 6;

And it came to pass that, in the eleventh month, the Mother of Nick didst fall and injure a shoulder and it was not good. And Nick couldst not sleep with worry and so didst journey once more unto Eden to assist in the healing of his Mother. And it was a third coming. Will didst remain with the baby cheeses and the House of the Moon and so it shall be the second time that Nick and Will hast been part-ed at this time of festive celebration.

And so it is written and so it shall come to pass.

Here endeth the lesson.
