The Wang Findings.

So.....yesterday I nipped in to make an appointment to see Dr Wang for today.Bored Stacey was there training up a new woman....there was a queue at the desk while the new woman peered at the computer......I don't think she had ever seen one before."It's very important that you acknowledge a waiting customer, by saying 'I will be with you in a moment." Stacey knew her stuff. The woman looked stumped at the computer screen."So you have a waiting customer....have you acknowledged them?" Asked Stacey. The woman just stared at the computer screen."Luckily most of our customers here are awesome....." she looked at the man waiting, "And I hope you are one of the awesome ones who is understanding.""Oh, no," said the woman, " why does it say that?" as she looked in horror at the computer screen."Come here, let me sort it." Stacey barged in.She sorted the waiting man who wanted to make an appointment then looked at me."Can I make an appointment for tomorrow?" I asked."What was your surname" (Of course she knew my first name)."Allen""And your first name?" (Oh, Stacey forgot!)"Nicholas""12.30?""Fine, thanks."I was there at 12.30 today. The waiting room was quite empty and the woman Stacey was training was there behind the desk on her own.....Eeek!She booked me in without mishap and I took a seat.I learned nothing new from 'TonicTV' but hardly had time to watch it as Dr Wang came for me.He peered at his computer screen."How do you feel?""I feel fine." I said.He took out the CT scan pictures I had brought in an envelope. He glanced over them."It says there is a mass on your left lung base.""Oh, heck," I thought he has got me confused with another patient.I peered at the computer screen and he turned it so I could see it better.....It was my name was at the top.The report from the CT scan said,'There appears to be a marginally spiculated solid mass in the posteromedial left lung, primary neoplastic pathology?'It recommended another chest CT scan.He tried to ring the clinic but no one answered."They usually go on lunch between 12 and 2."He printed out the CT scan referral form and handed it to me."Your kidneys and bladder are fine. They found nothing. This is just an incidental finding. Don't panic.""Oh, I'm not panicking," I said. "I'll make an appointment and then come back to see you next week?""Yes," he said."Thank you Dr Wang."I left. The new woman behind the desk grinned at me. "Have a nice day."'We will,' I smiled speaking also on behalf of my spiculated solid mass.I didn't think they would find anything wrong with my kidneys or bladder because I am convinced the problem is in my gut.I am still not panicking about the spiculated solid mass at the base of my left lung because my breathing is fine and I have had no pain there. I think they are 'Wang!'.....'I am convinced that it will all come to nothing.'Hay! They would be great famous last words!I am having the scan on Tuesday morning.....respite willing.'Don't worry about me, I'll be alright.......you read Possum and enjoy yourself!"
