So...shortly after I was offered two days a week teaching at Stanthorpe for the next term I also was asked if I was interested in teaching one day a week at the school down the road, teaching Science to the Prep/Y1 class, Y2/Y3 class and Y3/4 class but this was for every Thursday for the rest of the school year.Initially I was relieved that I had an excuse to turn it down simply because I did not really want to teach just Science plus I would be completely responsible for it and it's assessment and that sent shivers down my spine. When the two days at Stanthorpe fell through I let the Head at the school down the road know and  she asked if I was still interested in teaching the Science.I have been thinking about it and decided that perhaps I could do it but I told the Head I was a little apprehensive about it. We arranged a meeting for today to discuss it.She confessed to doing a 'happy dance' when my Stanthorpe days fell through and said that she now had three options for me.Option one is the original one of teaching Science to the Prep/Y1, Y2/Y3 and Y3/Y4 classes. Option two was taking the Y2/Y3 class for Science and then spending the rest of the day in the Prep/Y1 class. This option was the preferred option for the Prep/Y1 teacher. Option three was taking the Prep/Y1 for a full day a week.I was honest and said that I would prefer Option 3 but I would do Option 2 if it was best for everyone else.So there you go....the final details have to be ironed out but from the start of next term I will be on a Point 1 contract for one day a week at Glen Aplin School.I am weirdly excited about it!
